Alexander Mazurov

I'm a senior software developer at Criteo, a personalized retargeting company, a former developer at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Switzerland). Primary areas of interest are the application of machine learning algorithms, designing, and developing large-scale software.

I want to acquire editorial skills

Experience

March 2013 - Present

Senior Software Engineer

Criteo
(Paris, France)

Developing big data solution based on Mesos cluster and Hadoop.

May 2007 – September 2017

Software Engineer

CERN
(Geneva, Switzerland)

My work was related to the development of the monitoring software at the most extensive experiments. I'm responsible for handling and visualizing terabytes of data from the experiments subsystems.

Accomplished projects:
  • Core software: Team lead and developer at a project related to regression testing. This project helps control the organization’s development process, where thousands of people are involved in the software changes.
  • Data analysis: For the first time in the world, we observed a rare particle's decay. This work was part of my Ph.D. thesis and incorporated new tools and techniques for processing and analyzing a large amount of data. The results were published and highlighted at the largest conferences.
  • Infrastructure: I implemented a file system for accessing internal tape storage. It allows access to data with existing file system tools that save a developer's time.
September 2014 – July 2017

Software Engineer, Consultant

United Nations
(Geneva, Switzerland)

I was responsible for designing and writing the tools that allow the publishing of hundreds of thousands of documents from the internal document management system to a public web service. This service provides access to the content and metadata of the document through an extensive API. I integrated the service to the large public knowledge base that consolidates resources from different United Nations sources.

July 2006 – April 2017

Web developer

ArtLebedev studio
(Moscow, Russia)

I developed the VTB24 bank website’s content management system, one of Russia’s largest commercial banks.
